Finally, N219 plane officially introduced to the public. The plane is one hundred percent designed by Indonesian without foreign interference.

N219 was developed by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN).

“N219 developed by Indonesian engineers. No foreign consultant in it,” said LAPAN Chief Thomas Jamaladin. The statement was made by Thomas while giving a speech at the launch of N219 in PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI), Jalan Padjadjaran, Bandung, West Java, on Thursday (10/12/2015).

N219 aircraft roll out ceremony was witnessed by high state officials. The officials soaking the muzzle plane with water and after that breaking the jug into the floor.

Indonesia should be proud because being able to make a quality aircraft. N219 with a capacity of 19 passengers with two turboprop engines.

“The aircraft is modern architectures. Drawn digitally so its pretty accurate when the enginer try to implement the design to the real aircraft,” said Thomas.
